Bob Mackie has had quite the career and still going strong. His over the top designs for Cher and Carol Burnett set the standards for the 1970s and 1980s. Known for his beaded dresses this dress dates from 1990 and was purchased on New Year’s Eve of 1990 and never worn because it still has the original tags on it. Silver and clear glass beads are sewn vertically in rows some are double sewn to give the pattern a more Art Deco feel. Squared neckline with wider spaghetti straps accentuates the dropped waistline so often used in the 1920s. The waistline has a silk satin bow. The hemline has rows of beaded fringe so when you walk there is movement. This dress is an incredible example of Bob Mackie design.
