Pauline Trigere was born in France to Russian Jewish immigrants. Her father was a tailor and her mother was an haute couture seamstress. She learned by the age of ten how to sew, and learned her trade from her parents. In the late 30s, her family immigrated to the United States. She started her house in 1946 due to necessity, for her husband died in the war, and had two children under her wing. This skirt is a great example of an evening. The fabric is metallic moiré in brown and gold-tone. The skirt is high-waisted which makes it look like a cumberbund. Can be worn with or without crinoline. Measures; waist 25in, hips max 40, length 45in. Never worn in excellent condition.
