Still stunning at 123 years old  at the time it was originally worn it was considered a dinner gown something you wear to a less formal affair. The high neckline is made of silk net then beaded with glass beads in various shapes and sizes. The gown has a pigeon front which means there is extra fabric down the front of the gown which is gathered at the waist to look like a pigeon chest very fashionable at this time has a full skirt with a slight train back in the day numerous petticoats were worn to make it fuller. The ribbon work on cotton net is done in a swirl pattern and is hand sewn. At the hemline there are rows of the ribbons done horizontally and in between the rows there is tightly pleated Mouseline de Soie the closure is hooks and eyes in the back. This gown was worn to a black tie event in the 1990s with a fitted slip underneath. Measures as follows shoulders 14, sleeves 20, armhole 7, bust 36, waist 29,hips max 40,  length front 59 back with train 68 there is one tear at the hem of dress  but the mouseline de soie row covers it up
