Emanuel Ungaro learned how to tailor at a very young age. His father gave him a sewing machine at 8 years old. At age 22 he began designing for balenciaga and courréges. In 1965 he started his own hause. This coat is the softest ultra suede is like butter. The print is a Buddha on the mountains in a lavender and soft pink background. It is lined in peau de soie a very thin silk. The design has a 1950s feel with full sleeves, straight down no closure, and a shawl collar. It has silverish/gold  leather, criss crossed all the way around the collar to the hem and the cuffs. The magnificence of this coat is at the print and the braiding goes down the back in 3 different rows.
