Bergdorf was founded in 1899 and always had a custom made department. This department has the best haute couture sewers and can make one of a kind garments. This dress is from that department. The halter style neckline is encrusted with white, silver and black crystals. It looks like you are wearing a necklace. In the back the beaded piece goes down to below the shoulder blade to form a T. There are thousands of rows of fringe on this dress. The fringe is black bugle beads. The way the fringe is sewn and the slightly different lengths of the fringe is pure Haute Couture. They look like one unison row but actually aren’t due to the body being 3 dimensional. This dress took hours to make and is highly labor intensive. There is a large slit in the back to make it easier to walk and dance. The design does give you an hourglass silhouette.
