Whites came back in vogue in the 1980s Victorian petticoats were worn as skirts and lace trim was used extensively. The ribbon work on this 2 piece ensemble is fine cotton net done horizontally. Mock turtle neck collar has rows of the ribbon in a circular pattern. Above the bust line there are vertical rows of chantilly floral lace also done in cotton . The leg of mutton sleeves taper in above the wrist which has the ribbon and lace work on it. The blouse is non fitted. The A line skirt has rows of the ribbon work with the lace going in the opposite direction. Both the bodice and skirt are trimmed in scallop lace at the hem. Measures as follows Shoulders 14, Sleeves 22, Armhole 7, Bust 36, Waist 26, Hips 38 length of Blouse 22, skirt 38 excellent condition
