Scaasi was born in Montreal to Jewish Emigrant parents where he learn to sew and design for their furrier business. He went to school in Paris and apprenticed with House of Paquin. Then he move to NYC and started working for Charles James before opening his own business. This dress is from 1990. Thin spaghetti straps hold up a thin layer of illusion before the sequins starts. The sequins are down in a swirl pattern on black cotton net. The under lining is black silk. The design of the dress resembles a dress a Flamenco dancer would wear. Fitted through the bodice and hips and 2 large tiers. The tiers are sewn slightly on the diagonal. Zips up the back and there is a hook and eye closure at the top which is hidden by a small bow.
