Many items were sanctioned in the war especially fabrics one of the fabric that wasn’t was crepe especially silk crepe. This mid 40s cocktail dress is made out of it with ved neckline squared shoulders achieved by shoulder pads and a fitted waist that flairs out to a full skirt. Like most 40s dresses there is a side metal zipper on the left side and a small one at the back of the neck for closure. The bead work is done in sequins and crystal beads placed all over the dress and at the shoulders there are 2 sprays of beads that criss cross. Measures as follows shoulders 15, sleeves 19, armhole 8.5, bust 38, waist 28, hips 40, length 47 great condition for it’s age small snag on right side of skirt.
