Harvey Bernin started his company in the late 1920s. His wife became the head designer in the 1940s. The base is silk organza with rows of Chantilly lace. The lace is sewn in a wave pattern. Below the lace is pleated organza. The design is a fitted bodice with a full skirt so characteristic of the the 50s. There are 2 more layers of organza underneath one of which is cream in color. The back has an organza tail achieved by layers sewn together . There is a separate capelette in the same fabric and lace. The dress was bought at The French Shop in Stamford,CTMeasures as follows Shoulders 14, Bust 34, Waist 25.5, Hips 40, Length 51 There is one small hole in the organza at the bottom.
