The late 1950s saw a straighter skirt, gone are the full skirts with crinolines underneath. Black Chantilly Lace is put over cream silk. The bust line has a half sweetheart neckline with a large pleat. Spaghetti straps hold the dress up. The bodice is lower in the back. The straight skirt has 2 pockets at the waist which are incorporated in the design, they are squared off at the waist a smart design. There is a triangular train in the back to add drama. What is nice about this dress is that it a not a petit size and the original owner was tall. Measures as follows Shoulders 16, Armhole 10, Bust 38, Waist 29, Hips 40, Length 62 Good to excellent condition-some marks in the black silk and the hem has some marks and is not perfect
