Vibrant Canary Yellow silk is printed with Manchurian cranes in solid colors or a multicolored print. The cranes are flying upwards motion which means a new beginning. The long pagoda sleeves also have the cranes motif. The collar extends to below the hip. This kimono was made for export often used as a robe or a form of outerwear especially in the Edwardian times. Many Edwardian ladies would wear a kimono over their Fortuny pleated dress.
