Janet Lynn was a fashion company based in Philadelphia. Charles Noble bought E Gordon in 1937 and renamed the company Janet Lynn after his granddaughter. Every designer had a shift dress in their line. Pop art played an important role in fashion especially fabric prints. This print looks like one of Andy Warhol flower picture. Made up of pink poppies, yellow Rand orange roses and blue forget me nots. The design is the basic shift with round neckline, sleeveless and straight down meaning it doesn’t come in at the waist. What make this dress unique is the lopped fringe at the bottom. Zips up the back for closure. Measures as follows Shoulders 15, Armhole 8, Bust 36, Waist 28, Hips 38, Length 37 Excellent condition. This dress was never worn it was taken by Janet Lynn from the showroom when the company went out of business and stored away.
