St John was founded in 1962 by Robert and Marie Gray in Irvine Ca. There first samples were knitted by Marie and her mother and the collection was shown in their garage. This suit dates from the mid 80s. With its short straight skirt and elongated jacket. The jacket has 3 rows of rectangular silver beaded strips that have a large rhinestone button in the center. The silver beads are actually woven into the knit so they will never fall off. The same trim is on the cuffs. The jacket has definition at the waist , it is straight with large shoulder pads. The shirt is silver tissue, with a large bow that can be ties in many ways. The buttons are covered in the silver fabric. The raglan sleeves have large cuffs. Measures as follows Shoulders 16, Sleeves 24, Armhole 8, Bust 38, Waist 30, Hips 40, Length of Jacket 32, Shirt 27, Skirt 28 excellent condition. There is one pic of the shirt where the bow is in the back and it did work.
