The fabric of this evening ensemble is a cotton blend chiffon. One of the reason for cotton is the fact that is embroidered in gold thread. The pattern is elongated leaves with centers of blue and green silk that have been appliquéd. Like most of the 1980s the top has the large shoulder pads. The top criss crosses at the waist and snaps shut creating a low Ved neckline. Sleeves are fitted. The top does come in at the waist. The skirt  is straight design with a large slit in the back. Both pieces are lined in a black chiffon. Designed by Legendary designer of the 80s Giorgio Armani who started his own business in 1975 and will be 90 this year. Like most Italian designers he is known for his tailoring and use of incredible fabrics.
