Galanos was considered one of the great American Designers. Most of Nancy Reagan gowns when she was First Lady were made by Galanos. This silk printed gown is from the early 1980s the design is simple but the beadwork is spectacular on the sleeve. The base is a cotton net, beading alone on net is incredible workmanship. The beads are done in a pattern that looks 3 dimensional all hand beaded in flowers. The yellow flowers are appliqué then beading is done over them. Zips up the back for closure. Measures as follows Shoulders 15, Sleeves 22 , Armhole 8, Bust 36, Waist 28, Hips 38, Length 56 excellent condition worn once
