1980s Oscar de La Renta Gold Lace and Flocked Velvet Chemise Style Cocktail Dress with belt Size 8
Sold OutThe 1920s style came back in mid 1980s with the chemise dress and dropped waists. This dress with gold metallic lace definitely has a 1920s vibe. The lace is at the top, the bottom of the sleeves and the hem. The intricacy of the lace is so fine like a spider web. The way the lace goes into the flocked velvet is incredible workmanship. It is cut out and sewn seamlessly. The base of the flocked velvet is a lighter in color then the swirl in deep brown with gold highlights. The angel wing sleeves are 3/4 in length. The belt is corded then braided in circular pattern. The dress was designed by Oscar de la Renta. We do have a magazine ad of the dress in American Vogue and was worn my Mrs. Vilando who was a major client of Oscar and he often custom make many of her dresses. Measures as follows Shoulders 14, Sleeves 22, Armhole 10, Bust up to 36, waist up to 30 with the belt 28, Hips 38, Length 51 Excellent condition worn once
