1990’s Maria Pinto Silk Taffeta Green/Purple 3 Piece Evening Ensemble Size 6

Maria Pinto started her business in 1991, known for her deconstructed couture. Some consider her designs architectural and whimsical. Depending on the way the light hits this ensemble the color does change from purple to green. The halter rop has a squared neckline and a lower back. It flares out at the waist slightly. The top is meant to be worn on the outside and not tucked in. Over the top is a bolero with a rolled collar and fitted sleeves. There are small shoulder pads to give the bolero structure. Full skirt has a surprise, it can be worn with the train down or buttoned up on the sides. The train has 2 triangular panels that go off to the sides slightly. When the panels are buttoned give the skirt an artistic flair something like Japanese designer Yoshi Yamamoto would do.. the ensemble will turn heads either way you wear it.
