Cheongsam or Quipao are a traditional dress worn in China they became popular in the 1920s and 30s when Anna May Wong worn them in the movies. This one is made from brocaded silk in royal blue and gold with red highlights. The print itself is flowers that look like chrysanthemums and long leaves. The Nehru style collar and cap sleeves are a characteristic of a Cheongsam. Fitted bodice and skirt has a large slit on the left side which is trimmed in red. The red trim also goes from the collar to below the hips on each side of the dress. Invisible zipper in the back is the closure. Measures as follows Shoulders 14, Sleeves 5.
