1999 B Michael Couture Black Hat with Feathers

B Michael Black  was born in Connecticut went to University of Connecticut and FIT he first started designing hats for Oscar de la Renta and Nolan Miller. He designed all the hats for the television show Dynasty especially Alexis Carri goon who was played by Joan Collins, she told him he should start his own Milliner business which he did in 1989. The couture hat collection started in 1999 and this hat is from it. Large brim with a high crown adorned with iridescent feathers sewn in rows so the cascade down like a waterfall. The hat itself is made of wool felt. What you don’t see is the brim is pleated to give it structure a haute couture technique.  Brim is 8 inches and the crown is 6 excellent condition
