Christian lacroix studied to be a curator  in museums, specializing in costumes and textiles. That is probably where he gets his over the top design ideas especially the 18th century. These shoes of his have a 1950s feel to them. They have the ankle strap with the clasp embedded w rhinestones. There is a large rhinestone almost looks like a brooch slightly off center and underneath the brooch the silk is pleated going from smaller to larger an excellent fashion statement.
