This dress will turn heads as it did in 1983 when Mrs. Tommy Valando wore it to the opening My One and Only at The St James Tommy Vilando was a major Broadway producer in the 1960s to1980s. The dress was custom made for her perhaps by Oscar de la Renta, there is no label unfortunately. There are 2 colored iridescent sequins strategically places to pick up maximum light, one is gold and the other is pink. Finishing off the bead work is small round rhinestones. The base is a metallic net and lace. The lace has a rose pattern on it which is sequined to give it a 3 D effect. The dress design is simple with angel wing sleeves low Ved neckline and back. The back is done in a way so it looks like a butterfly with open wings. Below the bust line in the front the fabric is rushed on the diagonal in a way to to give a ripple effect. The hem is shorter in the front and to the ground in the back. The way the light hits this dress especially when you walk and dance it it. The dress has no zipper or closure so you have to put it over your head or step into it to get it on. Measures as follows Shoulders 15, sleeves21, Armhole 8, bust up to 36, Waist 28, Hips40 Length Front 54 back 56. Excellent condition was worn once to the opening and stored away.
