The new look was ushered in 1947 by Christian Dior, fitted bodice and full skirt. The style remained until the late 50s. Taupe is a soft neutral color and goes with most skin tones. The white polkadots are embroidered onto th the fabric giving them a 3 D effect. Shoulder straps have scalloped edges on both sides. Above the bust line of the fitted bodice there is one ruffle with a scalloped edge. The full skirt is pleated at the waistline so it will lay properly with a crinoline underneath. Without the crinoline the skirt still lays correctly but is much longer. The scallop edge does go down the front of the dress. Zips up the back for closure.
