1980’s Celery Green 2 piece Silk Mary O’Donnell Evening Ensemble Size 2

If you have a spring or summer black tie or wedding this ensemble would be perfect. Made of silk taffeta in a celery green. The short puff sleeves are a silk organza edged in the taffeta.the round collar tapers to a V. Fitted bodice comes in at the waist and flairs out slightly. The skirts is a slight A line with a medium sized waist band. The flowers of the skirt are hand embroidered and probably done after the skirt was sewn. In between the lining of the skirt there is stiff fabric which makes the skirt lay properly. The ensemble was made by Mary O’Donnell, one of Ireland’s Haute Cuisine house. She would use local artisans such as lace makers and embroiderers and go to the local flea markets and antique shops to find Irish Crochet Lace which she prized. Her brother sponsored her to go to school in New York and upon graduating she first went to work for Sybil Connolly. Measures as follows Shoulders 14, Sleeves 4, Armhole 7, Bust 34, Wiat 22, Hips 38, Length of Top 26, Skirt39 Excellent condition the rib cage is very small in this ensemble
