Emile 1940's Black Ruched Midi Dress

The War years saw many restrictions especially fabrics. Rayon became the fabric of choice synthetic and looks like silk. It was all about the design this dress  has a simple top but the skirt is wear the design is. on each side the are 2 bows that are ruched on the diagonal. In the center of the bow are 4 large pleats to the hem and next to those pleats there are several smaller ones. The full skirt was made for dancing. Zips up the back for closure. There is no indication about Emile it may have been a local seamstress or tailor. Measures as follow Shoulders 15, Sleeves 24, Armhole 7.5. Bust 36, Waist 26, Hips 38, Length 47 Excellent condition
